I just came home from the best night of my fourteen-year old life.
I was at my friend's cotillion (sorta like a fancy coming-of-age party) with four of my other friends from school. The party was at Navy Pier.
We there at about 5:00 p.m. and we spent most of our time exploring the ballroom and outside. It was nice weather outside, too, and there was a concert going on, and there were some sailors there, as well. It was so awesome, because the girl on stage was singing a Michael Jackson song and the sailors were dancing to it.
Being in the ballroom was also awesome, because the people outside kept looking in through the glass doors(locked) to see what the fanciness was for, and we were being all fancy in our fancy dresses and non-alcoholic cocktails. My friends and I took pictures of the poor saps outside haha. Here we are, you saps, having the fancy time of our lives and you get to stand there and watch us mock you by taking pictures of you. With the flash on!
The cotillion went well. My friend the cotillion girl had an awesome dress and she danced awesomely with our other guy friend from school, who I still say looked hot in a suit.
The best part was probably the evening, because there was a guy sitting with us at our dining table and he was "very, VERY attractive"...
During dessert, Alyssa actually told him so, and his reaction was so adorable (he was all 'Aww you're making me blush aww) And his friends were shocked that we found him so attractive.
There were dances, too, but I didn't participate because I don't know how to dance.
We also went outside a lot because it was more fun to be running around in tuxedos and dresses while everyone else stares at you funny. We took lots of pictures of the aforementioned attractive guy, which I SHOULD BE RECEIVING SHORTLY, LAUREN AND AMANDA. Then, right before we left, the hot guy gave Aly and me goodbye hugs. And there were two other things that happened, but I can't say.
I can only say this evening was the fanciest I've ever had. Thank you, Cotillion girl. By the way, I still owe you ten bucks for Spiderman.
TEACH ME HOW TO WALTZ.
